We are delighted to announce that Michael Stern has been named Mentor of the Year 2008 by the Mentoring Partnership. This award is presented to an individual who has "shown outstanding commitment to the mentee and in doing so has been a source of inspiration to the mentee and The Mentoring Partnership program." Michael was nominated by mentee Claudia Williams (pictured), a Corporate Communications Specialist.

The Mentoring Partnership provides new immigrants in the City of Toronto and the regions of Halton, Peel and York with occupation-specific mentoring. Participants entering the program possess the education, experience and language skills needed to excel in the workforce —all they need are the connections and knowledge that can only be gained from real-life experience. The Mentoring Partnership opens networks and builds relationships, leading to employment.
The Mentoring Partnership is a program of the Toronto Regional Immigrant Employment Council (TRIEC). Established in September 2003, TRIEC is comprised of members representing various groups: employers, labour, occupational regulatory bodies, post-secondary institutions, assessment service providers, community organizations, and all three levels of government.
